Why I Retained Akpabio's Men - Emmanuel

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, has explained that his decision to appoint persons earlier engaged by the immediate past administration into his cabinet was to ensure continuity and timely completion of ongoing projects he inherited.
Emmanuel gave the explanation in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, shortly after swearing in 20 commissioners and two Special Assistance cleared by the state House of Assembly.

The governor promised that never would integrity be sacrificed on the altar of criticism in his administration.
He expressed the hope that with the persons of proven integrity sworn in, the success of the industrialisation policy of his administration was certain. Hon. Enyinna Ekpenyong and Anietie Etuk were appointed as Special Assistance, while Barr. Uwemedimo Nnwoko, Hon. Akan Okon, Hon. Mathew Ekaette, Akparawa Ephrem Inyang, Prince Godwin Ntokude, Hon. Aniekan Akpan, Dr. Dominic Ukpong, Rt. Hon. Uwem Etuk, were sworn in as commissioners.Others sworn in as commissioners include: Hon. Eno obong Uwa, Iniobong Essien, Hon Aniekan Umana, Hon. Etim Antai, Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem, Barr. Ekong Sampson, Emmanuel Onwioduokit, Dr. Mrs Elizabeth Obot, Hon Emmanuel Ibiok, Dr. Glory Edet, Hon. Monday Uko, and Engr Etido Inyang.
Administering the oath of office to officially usher the 20 into the cabinet of the state, the governor charged them to discharge their duties with vigour in their respective offices to foster the industrialisation stride of the administration.
He noted that they were appointed on merit, urging them to let their work speak of the trust bestowed on them by the people of the states.
